Český Krumlov isn’t just for history buffs. With children you can enjoy the castle, the river, the countryside and plenty of downtime – it’s just worth planning your days so that everyone has fun.

A castle kids find exciting

• The bears in the castle moat are a long-standing attraction, and children usually want to see them first.
• The castle tower – a climb up the stairs rewarded with a view over the whole town.
• The castle gardens are perfect for letting off steam after a tour.

Choose shorter interior tours – a long route will tire out younger children.

Water and nature

• Rafting on the Vltava – families can manage the short stretch through the centre, even with no experience.
• Lipno – the Treetop Walk with its giant slide, swimming, cycle paths and family-friendly ski slopes in winter.
• Kleť – a chairlift up and a lookout tower with views as far as the Alps.

Back to the pool after a day out

After a day on their feet, children love our heated pool and big garden most of all. Meanwhile parents can relax on the terrace or cook dinner on the barbecue.

Which room to choose with children

• Family apartment no. 10 for 4–5 people, with a kitchen and two balconies above the pool.
• Apartment no. 7 for up to 4 people, with a separate bedroom.
• Rooms 1 and 2 on the ground floor, with a garden terrace and room for an extra bed – ideal if you have a pushchair.

We lend baby cots free of charge.

Practical tips

1. Park at your accommodation and walk into the centre – pushing a pushchair over cobblestones beats hunting for a parking space.
2. Castle in the morning, water or pool in the afternoon.
3. A kitchen in your apartment makes breakfasts and dinners with little ones much easier.
