Český Krumlov with a dog: dog-friendly hotel, walks and rules
How to enjoy Český Krumlov with your dog: dog-friendly accommodation, where to walk, where dogs are allowed and what to keep in mind.
Travelling with your dog? Český Krumlov is a lovely place for dogs and their owners alike – plenty of greenery, the river and beautiful walks just outside town.
Staying with your dog
Your dog is a welcome guest here. The fee is 375 CZK (€15) per dog per night. We just ask you to let us know in advance so we can pick a suitable room – dogs like the ground-floor rooms with a garden terrace best (rooms 1 and 2).
The big garden is ideal for morning and evening walkies, and you park right by your room.
Where to go with your dog in Krumlov
- The historic centre – dogs on a lead are allowed, but in summer go in the morning or evening, when it’s less crowded and the cobblestones aren’t scorching.
- The castle courtyards and gardens – dogs on a lead; dogs are not allowed inside the castle.
- Along the Vltava there are pleasant paths away from the main tourist routes.
Walks nearby
- Křížová hora (Cross Hill) above the town, with a view over Krumlov.
- The Blanský Forest and Kleť – woodland trails for longer outings.
- The cycle path to Zlatá Koruna – a flat route along the river.
Things to keep in mind
- Lead and poo bags – in the centre, that goes without saying.
- Water for the road – the streets can get hot in summer.
- Restaurants – many places welcome dogs; just ask as you go in.
If you’re not sure which route to take, ask us – we’re happy to recommend walks we’ve tried ourselves.
